Value of AK...

This reminds me of the old days when the 6k tournament was a "big" tournament... what is the value of your AK?

I was in a tournament... 1st level and I see AK. One raiser raised to 500 on a 50-100 blinds so I call and then another raiser to 2000! I still call thinking that I can see the flop...

Flop - 2 4 7... One player goes all in... I call thinking the pot was good enough leaving me with about 200

Turn - 4

River - blank...

I am out! I know... should have folded... should have... could have... lesson learned...

Good game.

WOW! What a comeback... AJ vs KJ!

It's been some time and all I can say is the same old whatever keeps happening! I played a WPT Philippines satellite at a friends house and I can say I left his house really steamin'. Sorry for the attitude by the way buddy. Anyhow, so we planned on playing a nice long tournament, 3k starting stack and with a slow blind system. (note to self- even a slow blind doesn't keep people from going all in)

We were in the 2nd blind and somebody was knocked out already! The third and the fourth levels were no different. Over all I played a somewhat ok game since I placed second, if I would have placed 1st then it would have been an awesome game for me.

Here are a couple of hands I played.

About 3 players limping in and I choose to raise by 3X the big blind... I get two callers.

Flop - Q, 8, 5 - one player bets X5 of the big blind and I have only about X10... so I push all in... the player to my left folds his pocket 10's and the raiser thinks about it for a good 7 mins...

He asks if I will show and I say yes... he calculates the pot and the odds... 5 outs... it is 5:1... etc. etc... I decide to entice him by showing one card... an A's... He said... hmmmm... Is it a Q underneath... He said that he would like for me to have A's so that he has more outs... I flip the other card over and the other one down and it is another A's... He still calls with a QJ!

I win.

One person comes back from having about 1500 of chips left to winning the tournament... against me having about a 2-1 advantage heads up.

Here is what happened:

I look under my cards and I see AJ... I raise and get called...

Flop - J, X, X - I bet and he raises me... i go all in. He calls really fast... I was thinking he had me... He flips over a K,J... I had him.

Turn - K

River - 8...

There goes my lead...

Next hand I see myself with an 8, 7 suited and i call... he checks...

Flop - 8, 4, 6... I push and he calls...

He shows me 8, 4 off.

For my troubles... I got X 5 of the buy in. Nice game by the way for everyone.

I also played a couple of games in one of the bars where they have fast games and it was also fun.

Good come back! Until next time. Should have chopped it! Oh well. Just win the WPT this coming saturday at ACF! That's why we had the satellite afterall.

Good game!
