Friendly game...

Played another game but I busted out 5th out of 11 players, what can I say... "Wrong timing" for sure! Tried a blind resteal but faced AK on the small blind behind me. Oh well.

Nice game.

ACF Freeroll...

Made it to the final table... 143players... Final 4... Chop with me as the chip lead! What can I say... when you lucky, your lucky. 3.5 hrs... profit... all profit!

I guess I used up all my luck in the freeroll cause I got taken out of the tourney I originally signed up for... Oh well. At least it was a freeroll for me cause of the chop.

Good game.

When you can't get a hand...

Played the northside poker tourney last night and for some reason, my cards were just not hitting or was being outdrawn... what do you do? You wait! Sometimes you can't wait.

For the tournament, I got AK and AJ, Pocket 4's, etc and no luck... I get pocket Q's and since I was already low on chips I push only to run into pocket A's. Oh well. Sometimes poker is like that.

I play a cash game... same thing... I get kings and I get called by somebody who hits trips on the flop... Well, at least overall I'm still ahead. LOL.

Good game

New ACF and Bad Beat!

As you all might have heard, ACF is under new management and therefore has a new take on poker. This new take is definitely evident as I look around the room. The former "cafetiria" is now a cashiers window and there is a buffet to the far right of the room right when you walk in. There is also a bad beat jackpot for the cash games and even an ironman prizepool.

Not to mention the new take on rake and the limit games. This is truly a different ACF poker room but the players faces are still the same with the occational smirk. Check it out for yourself, it is totally different.

BAD BEAT... ok, so I didn't get the beat but I gave it to a friend. Sorry Alan.

Checked out the ACF freeroll and it was an interesting game. Almost like a shootout. 5k stack with blinds starting with 100-200 doubling up everytime. 200-400, 400-800, 500-1000, 1000-2000 and so on every 15 mins. It is a freeroll afterall with a prize pool of 20k. 1st 7200, 4xxx, 3xxx all the way to 9th place who gets 600. Taxi fare to get there! LOL.

Well, back to the bad beat.

We were short handed with 6 players/5 players and I look down and see Qd4d. Since the blinds where already 400-800 and my stack is 6000, I decide to push. Just to do it ok, it was a free tournament afterall. Anyhow, Alan thinks about it for a long time and says "I think you pushed at the wrong time" and calls showing A's. The gang shows up to see what would happen, Miguel C., Alexis, etc.

flop - Q, 3, 7

Turn - Q - Alan is instantly tilted! Alan by the way is the big stack of the table.

River - 9

Hey, that's poker!

Maybe I'll check out the rest of the games this week too. Limit tournament on Tue and Thu. No limit Wed and friday. 11am and 6pm.

Good game.
